St Joseph’s School works in partnership with the parents to provide each student with the opportunities to reach his/her full potential.
As a result parents are welcome in our school all the time. Many parents come into the school on a volunteer basis to help with art, english, maths, sport and general classroom activities. Many assist with canteen, covering books and organising teaching materials.
The teachers are available to parents whenever the need arises unless of course they are in class. The principal has an open door policy for parents, as well as staff and students.
St Joseph’s School has a Parents and Friends Association which meets the third Wednesday of each month that occurs during each school term.
The Parents and Friends Association is organised to support in various ways and in addition, to give all parents an opportunity to get to know each other. It is essential that St Joseph’s School has the support and co-operation of all parents if we are to attain a high standard of education for our children.
It is the parents' spirit of generosity and support for the children at St Joseph’s School that encourages us all to aim for the very best that is possible in the Catholic education of the children in our care.
All meetings and functions are advertised in the weekly school newsletter.
The canteen is managed by a voluntary canteen manager, and assisted by volunteer parents each Friday.
The principal and parish co-ordinator are also assisted in the management of the school by The St Joseph’s School Committee.
The school committee is composed of the parish co-ordinator, principal, parish representative, P&F representative, and parent representatives. All representatives are available to support parents in any matters to do with the management of the school. The school committee meets once per term.
